Klaus Tenger grew up in the heart of Brazil, the son of Austrian parents who were dedicated to a human rights NGO. A passion for justice ran through his veins from an early age, influenced by the tireless work of his family. His life took a tragic turn when his wife, Maria, a lawyer who fought against corruption and defended the defenseless, was brutally murdered by criminals linked to a satanic cult.
Consumed by grief and rage, Klaus abandoned his parents' pacifist ideals. He became a nocturnal vigilante, roaming the city streets seeking revenge against those who had destroyed his life. His mission became clear: to root out evil at its roots, believing that a bloodthirsty thug's only right was death. One fateful night, after eliminating the leader of the cult responsible for his wife's death, Klaus was ambushed and killed by the remaining members of the criminal group.
However, his story did not end there. The Prophet, an enigmatic entity who watches over the intertwined fates of mortals, saw in Klaus a flame that should not be extinguished. In an act of divine intervention, the Prophet resurrected him, but with a renewed purpose and powers that defied mortal comprehension.
Upon returning to life, Klaus found himself infused with mystical energy, his body now emanating an intense red aura, a symbol of his unwavering fury and determination. Donning an all-red uniform with black accents, including a balaclava that covered his face, adorned with a black skull-shaped mask and eyes that glowed with an unearthly light, he became the Scourge. His transformation was the embodiment of his thirst for justice and the punishment he now brought to the corrupt and evildoers.
As Flagelus, Klaus was no longer an ordinary man, but a being endowed with superhuman abilities. His red energy granted him extraordinary strength, agility and endurance, as well as the ability to manipulate this energy to create shockwaves and explosions, becoming a living weapon against the forces of evil.
